Abstract
The purpose of the author is to analyse the reasons why the Serbian
historiography of the baroque period turned away from the Byzantine
historiography and embraced that of Central Europe and its neighboring
states. At the same time the author names the important representatives
of this trend, the sources, local as well as Central European,
that they used, and their most characteristic points.
