Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to outline some of thè distinctive characteristics
of thè Greco-Bulgarian understanding and some of the unique features
of the Albánián factor.
The Greco-Bulgarian understanding was a conséquence of new pressures
and opportunities stimulated by events and developments which were taking
place beyond thè frontiere of the two nations, and were beyond the control
or influence of either Athens or Sofia. These tradiţional adversaries were not
brought together by a sincere desire for lasting friendship, but rather because
they strongly suspected, and at the same time needed and had to dépend on,
each other.
