The problem of prophecies in Byzantine and Bulgarian literature

Abstract

Aim of the present study is the présentation of certain typological parallele
between Byzantine and Bulgárián literature, concerning the so-called
«prophecies», which include information on the practice of magic.
Prophecies are worthy of special attention, when examined in comparative
manner, because they are a valuable literary source which fully présents
the évolution of thought of medieval man, often presenting a fuller picture
than that of official literature on the Balkans.
