Περίληψη

Communication is essential to human being. It takes place verbally and nonverbally. The role of non-verbal communication is very important in the classroom as it contributes to existence of a communicative atmosphere, and in creating significant learning outcomes. Especially, nonverbal behavior of a teacher related to kinesics during instructional processes, on which focuses the present study, plays an important role in acquisition of knowledge and in creating of a learning environment extremely supportive to teaching. Researchers who recognize the importance of nonverbal behavior in instruction claim that if a teacher desire to succeed in his/her educational role, should has made it his/her property in order to be able to convey messages to pupils in a clear way, avoiding misunderstandings related to real meaning of the message. This necessity is also confirmed by the present study. As the pedagogical science is constantly evolving, the training of teachers in basic and specialized issues of nonverbal communication is considered to be absolutely necessary.
