The job satisfaction of teachers significantly affects the performance of the school. In this paper quantifies the degree of job satisfaction of teachers of the general secondary school units of Volos. The research was done by census and was carried out using the questionnaire of Everard and Morris. The general and individual degrees of job satisfaction, although they are not very small, show considerable deficits in the European average. Between Secondary High Schools and High Schools, small variations are recorded, which were found to be statistically non-significant. The results of the research can guide the director of a modern school in order to create the appropriate incentive conditions to staff with the expectation of achieving the school unit’s objectives. They may also provide particularly useful information on policy-making with a view to improve quality of education.
