Περίληψη

During the Late Renaissance and the Enlightenment, a number of art works captured the last moments of Socrates. This article aims to approach the reflections of the “dying Socrates” from the 17th to the beginning of the 19th century, which were distinguished for their socio-cultural perspective and their possible influences on the Western World. The paintings were analyzed through the “Grammar of Visual Design” in terms of value of the visual information they provide. The utilization of the dynamic that emerges from this approach is displayed by depositing a teaching proposal based on “Artful Thinking” (University of Harvard) didactic potential.
