Περίληψη

The educational reforms are a phenomenon of the political life of a country, that is closely linked to educational policy and the articulation of political discourse that accompanies any change. Although educational policymaking began as a “national affair”, in recent decades it has been increasingly influenced by so-called international or supranational organizations and global socio-economic developments. While the intervention of these organizations was initially limited to economic issues, their role has now emerged as a co-shaper of national education and training policies, based on indicators and pillars that they develop, with a view to harmonizing education with economic efficiency, in the context of internationalization. The case study of the Arsenis reform, gives us an image of how an attempt was made to transfer international policies to the Greek education system, unsuccessfully, allowing us to make a reduction as to the degree of integration of Greek education into the applicable international policies, as expressed in from the official texts of international organizations and as dictated by the socio-economic context.
