Abstract

In this paper, a theoretical and empirical approach to agrotourism, its conceptual definition and its distinction compared to other similar concepts is attempted so as to estimate its contribution to local development and to determine the method of its application in Greece based on the local and international experience. The content, conditions and process of agrolourism and similar economic activities that contribute to the integrated development of rural areas are described. The recent developments in Greece, the problems and the prospects for agrotourism further development are also depicted.
