Abstract

This paper evaluates the results and the main problems of the implementation of the Community Support Framework for the Greece 1989-93. The macro-economic impacts of the programme are very weak, in comparison with the other Member-States of the Objective 1 of the European Community, and the same thing is true as far as the structural impact and the physical output are taken into account. The main reasons are the deficiencies in the structure of the programme, in the selection and the implementation of interventions, and in the system of monitoring and management of the programme. In order to maximise the developmental potential of the new CSF 1994-1999, substantial amelioration should be made in the above fields.
