Harald Hardrada: his expedition against the Pechenegs

Abstract

In this article is discussed a reinterpration of a Norse text concerning
Harald Hardrada who, as it seems, was active during the Pechenegs invasions
in the Balkans. The article provides some very interesting new details to our
knowledge of the Varangian troops and their relations with Byzantium.
