The unaccompanied minors in a safe third country The case of Turkey
Main Article Content
Abstract
The main aim of this JMD is to tackle illegal immigration flows and the criminal activity of traffickers. This JMD reinforces the EU-Turkey Statement, which has been in place since March 2016 with the aim of stopping the flow of refugees from the Turkish coast to Europe. According to Notis Mitarakis the JMD is fully in line with International Law and shields Greece’s legal arsenal against requests from citizens from countries such as Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Somalia, who objectively have no reason not to consider Turkey safe country.
