Περίληψη
In this research article we try to investigate and report our findings on the alternative ideas of the preservice primary school teachers, students of the Educational Department of the University of Athens, regarding the phenomenon of the tides. For the survey, we used a multiple-choice questionnaire, with closed type questions that were formed based on previous research, including all the types of corresponding conceptions. We also asked the students to provide us with a short description of the phenomenon mechanism, to identify and assess their perception about of the nature, the types, the cycles, and the causes of its creation. We give a detailed presentation and analysis of the survey’s outcome. Our research results are favorably compared with the results of other researchers.
