Περίληψη

The aim of the present study is to explore the views of primary education teachers concerning their professional development opportunities. According to their responses, the participants expressed a low level of satisfaction by the existing institutional framework of in-service training. The factors that facilitate their involvement in professional development activities are mainly related to intrinsic motivation, while the most important barriers are mostly related to the situation they are in as adult learners (situational barriers) such as the lack of time and less related to difficulties due to the institutional framework (organizational barriers).
