Περίληψη

The aim of the research was to investigate the friendly relations of schoolchildren coming from culturally diverse backgrounds in primary school with their majority peers. Ιt was investigated how acceptable were as friends among their classmates, their behavior, the close and very close friendly relations and the maintenance of the closeness and quality of those relations. The sample of the study consisted of 284 elementary school children, 148 males (52.1%) and 136 females (47.9%). Out of the 284 children, 241 were majority children (64.9%) and only 43 were culturally diverse (15.14%). The results showed that children coming from cultural diverse backgrounds have a low degree of acceptance, as friends from children of the dominant culture and they are not preferred as close friends, even though they are wishing to make friendships in the classroom.
