Περίληψη

The present research investigated the educational needs of employees in smalland medium-sized publishing companies on topics mainly related to economics and management. The role of employee training in publishing companies and the positive effects it has for both, in terms of improved performance, satisfaction, and development opportunities, were examined. Greek and foreign literature was utilized and quantitative research was used as a research method in a sample of 108 employees of publishing companies and branches of production and economy, mainly in the departments of sales, marketing, and financial planning, with a closed-ended questionnaire.


Through the research, the real need for the training of employees of publishing companies emerged. The main findings and conclusions that emerged from the survey are as follows: α) The necessity for companies to have trained personnel in specific sectors in order to integrate them into the new business environment, especially after the rapid development of new technological means of e-commerce, b) the motivation for training and the benefits that will result from the training of employees were highlighted, with the employees themselves strongly believing in the institution of lifelong training in order to enhance their self-confidence and professional self-improvement.
