Abstract

The article attempts to shed some light on the triple issue of tourism-sustainability-coasts from the point of view of infrastructure and especially transport. To this end, an analysis of the modern tourist tendencies is presented. The prefecture of Magnesia, Greece, one of explicit inclination in tourism is taken as a case for trie paper. To analyse the issues, the experience drawn from two research projects and a further study carried out by the University of Thessaly is presented. A categorization of the local actors and their positions against the issues in question are presented. A further post vision of the issues some years after the completion of the projects is attempted and conclusions are drawn for planning perse and the triple issue in question.
