This paper deals with a case-study concerning labour flexibility in the textiles and clothing industry located in the Greater Thessaloniki Area (GTA). The first section presents the concepts of numerical and functional flexibility in the context of the flexible firm paradigm. Different approaches vis-a-vis these concepts are also discussed. In the second section, the nature and character of industrial and labour in particular, flexibility - in the GTA - is closely investigated through field work. Findings are evaluated according to concepts discussed in the first section.
