Περίληψη

During the last twenty-five years, upper secondary education has been hanging dramatically, assuming a different dimension and moving from a restricted base to become an all-inclusive coverage. In most European countries traditions of elitism, however powerful, haven't prevailed over the flowering of a mass system after the age of fifteen - since there seems to be a growing tendency to delay the time of selection. In this paper the problems of upper secondary education and actual and planned solutions in various European countries —especially W. Germany— are described and analyzed.
