Περίληψη

The aim of this study is to investigate gender and class influences in adolescents knowledge of the occupational structure and the social division of labour.494 boys and girls (ages 14-15) divided in three groups according their economical background, have been asked to write down the first ten jobs which came in their heads without consultation or deliberation. The lists with ten jobs mentioned most by each group are presented in this study. Discussion showed that a) gender divisions are strong among all the pupils. Boys id girls perceive a strongly divided occupational structure, b) class divisions e more visible among boys, girls lists presenting an impressive homogeneous. Future work will develop more these ideas.
