Self concept of primary and secondary school students. This study explores the self-concept of elementary school (N= 1041) and secondary school students (S=862) attending public schools in northern Greece. The purpose of the investigation is to examine the multidimensionality of self-concept for Greek students, the psychoraetric features of the Self Description Questionnaire, and the possible variables that influence children's perceptions of themselves. Students were asked to fill out a translated version of the Self Description Questionnaire (SDQI for elementary school students consisting of 71 items and SDQII for secondary school students consisting of 102 items). The findings supported the multidimensionality of self-concept. Gender and school achievement were found to be strongly related to many dimensions of the students self-perceptions.
