Περίληψη

This paper refers to the intuitive idea of preschool children concerning the gasification of water, the melting of pieces of ice and on the change of these ideas through didactical proposals. The study consists in a descriptive stage based on semi-structured interviews in which we focused on predictions, centrations and explanations of the children during the phenomena of gasification and melting. Furthermore, it had an experimental stage based on a didactic proposal aiming to the change of preschool children's intuitive ideas concerning gasification in order to transform them into more compatible with the ones of the scientific community. The didactical proposal was based on the presentation of pictures which showed a sequence of four moments in the phenomenon of water's evaporation out of an open bottle. Additionally, the didactical proposal encompassed the presentation of the phenomenon water's distillation by using a distillation apparatus. We realized the experimental part of the study by using a non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design which showed significant differences between the control and the experimental group concerning the students' ideas in relation to the scientific models.
