In this paper, we attempt to deal with the problem relating to the negative intention of student teachers at the School of Education of the Aristotle University of Thessalonica to involve themselves in laboratory science courses during their undergraduate studies. Our approach focuses on the concept of attitude seen as a cognitive structure based on beliefs, which places it more in a constructivist context then in a behaviorist one. This is a Social Psychology’s approach, which started with the Fishbein and Ajzen's (1975) theory of "reasoned action", and concluded with the Ajzen's (1985) of "planed behavior". Our results indicate that primary student teachers intention to involve themselves in laboratory1 science courses is affected by their beliefs, which have to do with control factors within their training period as well as with social influences and beliefs, which formulate attitudes. The results discussed in the paper focus on the application of influences and beliefs.
