Περίληψη

Nowadays a series of important questions are put forward regarding the contribution of primary school to the formation of a modem global educational system. School is an organization, which can have different orientations and perspectives. In our research (which was done through a questionnaire administered to headmasters of our region) the head teachers were asked to express their opinions about the characteristics of the school that they consider as most important and the ones that they consider as leas; important. We used these interviews in our qualitative analysis in order to test the results of our quantitative survey and we have come up with the following findings: 1. The head-teachers seem to have a rather confused notion of the objectives and the function of the school. 2. They place great importance to the interpersonal relationships of the teachers who work in their school. 3. They are interested in having a creative communication with the Ministry of Education. 4. They don't seem to be interested in establishing connections between their school and the local community.
