Περίληψη

Bibliographical studying about various subjects on .special education in¬cludes many questions about the practical dimensions of learning disabili¬ties, like '"which characteristics can ensure specialists that some kids have to be students in a class which provides special education. Questions like these consist the basis of this research. The research started in March 2001 and was completed in May 2001. One hundred and sixty (160) participants were chosen from Primary Education in Central Macedonia, Northern Greece. Half of the boys and girls who participated in the research appeared as students with learning disabilities and the test of them appeared as ordi¬nary students. For the comparison between them "Athena Test" was used. This particular test examines student's progress in five academic areas: in¬telligence, memory of retinues, completion of representations; graphical phonological awareness and neuron-psychological ripening. The questions of the research were: a) are there any differences between students with learn¬ing disabilities and those without learning disabilities in general categories in "Athena Test"? b) are there any differences between these two groups in terms of quality variables?, c) are there any differences between boys and girls?. The results showed noteworthy differences between these two groups in all categories, except "Writing distinction". Differences between boys and girls were noticed as well.
