Περίληψη

The purpose of this study was to examine teachers' use of verbal aggressiveness in Universities as perceived by the students. The sample constituted of 327 undergraduate students (144 men and 183 women) from the University of Athens, Greece. Verbal aggressive behavior was examined in terms of attacks on competence, character or background, teasing, ridicule, threats, swearing, profanity and nonverbal emblems, the findings of the study revealed an increased level of verbal aggression that exists among teachers in Greek Universities. Future research in nationwide sample is needed in order to explain better the concept of verbal aggression among Greek University teachers.
