Περίληψη

The paper discusses the introduction and implementation of the new language curriculum in Greek preschool education. It closely examines the 'actors and dynamics involved in this specific process of curriculum change. The dynamics that were identified by teachers and School Advisers as important in the process of change could be assigned to each of four different levels of the implementation procedure, i.e. the national, local, school and personal levels. The discussion focuses on special aspects of teachers' professional lives, such as teacher development, school culture, school leadership and teachers' personal theorizing. Special reference is made to the importance of local context and culture in a process of implementation.
