Περίληψη

In the field of adult education the quest for a learning theory which would be able to describe profoundly the adult learning process was always a very important domain of theoretical and empirical research. The theory of transformative learning which was developed by Prof. Jack Mezirow is consi¬dered from many theorists as the most complete approach of the learning pro¬cess in adulthood. This paper presents the basic aspects of the transformative learning theory and the main critique points that were addressed to it.
