Περίληψη

The purpose of the present research is to investigate whether teaching with the use of folktales can contribute to the promotion of Intercultural Educa¬tion. Data were collected following qualitative research methods (observa¬tion of teaching of two Cyprus folktales, interviews with pupils and inter¬views with two teachers, who observed the teaching) from two 4th grade classes of two primary schools in Nicosia, Cyprus. The results of the re¬search showed that the children of the two classes got stereotypes against black race. They also showed that appropriate teaching of folktales can help pupils change their attitude and raises participation and critical reflection.
