Περίληψη

The issue of immigrants' children social integration in educational and social environment of developed west countries as well as equal opportunity conditions in hosting countries, have constituted subject of scientific analysis and relevant discussions for a long time. Through the adoption of a psychosocial approach regarding the formation of the social identity of a developing person in a multicultural environment, we attempted to explore as many aspects of the group of students’ social representations as possible, in a purely Greek school of the Greek community in Munich. Through a discourse analysis, actions and interactions within an ethnographic study, we investigated: i) the attitudes and their representations in the context of their eth-no-cultural group of reference, ii) the possible existence of ethnic stereotypes of their native or foreigner peers, as well as iii) the experiences which relate to issues of social inclusion and exclusion. The results of this research highlight the existence of a variety of stereotypes, which are significantly connected to attempts of inclusion of students both at school and within the wider social environment. Let it be noted that this case study also contributes to the reinforcement of some theoretical approaches on these issues, but also to the emergence of the necessity of making compensatory/therapeutic educational interventions in educational conditions in such multicultural environments.
