Περίληψη

The contribution of experiential learning in the development of the individual is recognized internationally for many years. Experiential learning can contribute to maintaining mental health and enhancing personal growth. The aims of this study were to explore: (a) if the experiential learning based on Interventionist-non Directional approach enhances university students’ self-esteem, self-efficacy and personal development and (b) which of the characteristics of the course and the teacher-facilitator contribute to improving students’ personal development. Findings showed improvement in students’ self-esteem, self-efficacy and personal development upon completion of the course, while it appeared that specific features of the course such as its relation to experience and inclusiveness and specific characteristics of the teacher-facilitator, such as openness and acceptance, contributed to improving students’ personal development and their communication with others.
