Abstract


Forgiveness Education has many applications in schools and other areas. In 2014, forgiveness Education lessons were initiated for the first time in Greece in selected secondary schools in collaboration with the University of WisconsinMadison. There is scientific evidence proving that students who have had lessons of Forgiveness Education have better relationship with their peers and teachers, less anxiety and depression and better academic achievements. They also learn how to reduce their anger and negative feelings and to appreciate everyone’s inherent worth. In Greece, similar studies are underway. In this evaluation we examine the teachers’ perceptions of the Forgiveness Education Program, the usability of the curriculum and the influence of the program to the students and the teachers. More research is necessary on the effectiveness of the Forgiveness Education Program in Greece.
