Περίληψη

This paper considering the broader framework for the diffusion of ideas and the fact that from the moment of ‘acquaintance’ with an educational system or with pedagogical ideas, some people promote and some people resist transfor­mation, it attempts to answer the questions why, how and by whom pedagogy is influenced as a theory and science in Greece during the 19th century. In par­ticular, aims to explore, through their persons, their texts and their activities, the effects of pedagogy on the Faculty of Philosophy of Athens’ University. The research highlights two dominant trends: neo-humanism and Herbartan­ism, with supportive by professors of the Athens’ Faculty of Philosophy who studying abroad –especially in Germany– and coming into contact with the corresponding European pedagogical movements.
