Περίληψη

Motivation for developing the research approach presented in this publication were perceptions by some in Greece that the character of the Experimental Schools is “elitist,” but also the unanswered question as to whether this type of school should be abolished, because according to these perceptions Exper­imental Schools promote social inequality and distinguish pupils into “pupils of Experimental Schools” and “pupils of other schools.”

Therefore, the aim of this paper is to investigate and demonstrate whether and to what extent Experimental Schools are a kind of “educational elite” in the Greek educational network.
