Περίληψη

This paper discusses the context for critical science education as the outcome of the synthesis of Critical Theory of theFrankfurtSchool, British Cultural Studies and Critical Pedagogy. In our work, we study how critical pedagogues Joe Kincheloe and Peter McLaren suggested the introduction of criticality in science education by combining the analysis for science and capitalism with theorizations about the politics of social movements. Finally, we propose how critical science education can constitute itself as a new research program in the didactics of science and simultaneously can change the content of the teaching of science.
