The outbreak of the new coronavirus disease and the sudden changes that occurred caused a negative impact on the mental health of children. The purpose of this study was to investigate the levels of resilience and anxiety in 5th and 6th-grade students during the second and third waves of the Covid-19 pandemic. A total of 187 primary school students (93 girls and 94 boys), aged 9-12 years, took part by completing an online questionnaire which was sent to their parents. The results showed that there were no differences in resilience in terms of gender, while there was a positive correlation between academic performance and resilience.
As regards trait-anxiety, it was found that children how had a person in their environment belonging to a vulnerable group reported higher levels of resilience during the quarantine period and lower levels of anxiety.
