Περίληψη

This article briefly presents the main mythological shortcomings of teaching children's writing in the Greek primary school and, adopting the social-cognitive model of teaching writing, makes the following recommendations for overcoming these shortcomings: a) Tasks from children's personal experiences, b) more available time for writing, c) planning and organization of the content, d) more instruction to children, el redrafting children's work, f) assessment of children's work, g) publishing children's work, and h) reorganization of teachers training and retraining in teaching writing.
