Περίληψη

During his studies for children with special educational needs in Great Britain the author come in touch with a new role -teacher for the Greek educational system: 'peripatetic' teacher. The aim of this paper is to describe and introduce this role in the Greek education. The researcher interviewed 11 peripatetic teachers with an average of professional experience 15 years, and worked for a short time alongside. The results of the study indicated the positive role of these teachers. These teachers seem to have an essential role for the education of children with special educational needs and the researcher-teacher evaluates that it is a positive challenge for the Greek educational system.
