Περίληψη

The aim of the present research is to reveal the teachers’ perceptions about gifted education in Greece, which has no formal and official base. 469 teachers from Primary Education participated in this research completing a brief and structured survey. Results show that the teachers consider quite important issue the education of gifted students, of equal value to the education for students with special difficulties, although they pose partly question of equal opportunities. Systematic training on the issue and similar professional experiences are rather limited. They feel unprepared for the pedagogical treatment of students with high abilities and believe that the relevant training is likely necessary
