Περίληψη

This research paper focuses on the design and implementation of a virtual professional development community of practice, based on teachers’ needs to improve and promote their intercultural knowledge. Drawing on data from interviews and observations, the findings of this research project reveal the creation of new knowledge and the adoption of new pedagogical practices regarding intercultural education as well as an increased collaboration among all involved stakeholders. This research has broader implications for educational policy and practice on intercultural professional development of teachers, as it highlights the need to move from traditional professional development programs to online support networks based on the principles of the critical-reflective approach, the principles of adult education and learning theories.
